Mission Adventures and the Darwin Tour
Ah, what to say about Mission Adventures??? It was pure awesomeness.
The last Mission Adventures team left last week, so it’s a bittersweet time for all of us here. On one side, Mission Adventures is ending (for now) but on the other side, the Darwin Tour has just started, so we’re looking forward to seeing God move with that!
Mission Adventures was awesome, we all have so many stories to tell and so many good memories! There’s way too much to write here, but just ask any of us and we’ll talk your ear off about MA. We had teams from QLD, NSW, Victoria, the NT, and even two guys from Kansas in the US come for MA. The teams spread out to various locations for outreach, including Thailand, Beswick, Manyallaluk, Belyuen, and an Indigenous youth camp at Morrow’s Farm. It was so great to be out there seeing the Ma-ers grow and step out in their abilities and knowing God more, as well as seeing the people in the outreach communities and Thailand change and be encouraged by a group of Christians coming to show them God’s love and serve them, as well as having fun! We look forward to the next Mission Adventures and hopefully seeing these MA-ers again!
On the other side, we have the Tour! The Darwin Tour started last week with a hip hop dance and strongman show at Charles Darwin University, with school visits and community shows following. A cultural dance team was out in Wadeye and Woolaning Homeland School for awhile. All three teams headed down to Katherine yesterday, for a week of shows and school visits. We’re so excited about it! The dance team leader, Pieta, is currently a bit sick, so we’d really appreciate your prayers for her.
All in all, it’s the end of one busy time and the start of another here in Darwin. Thank you all so much for your love and support, and we’ll be posting photos and hopefully some videos of MA and the tour on facebook soon J
